Yes, I’m sure I’ve been stereotyped. But I’ve tried not to associate myself with large group. I feel that just having a few good friends is more meaningful then having tons of acquaintances. I do remember in high school I was in a class with my best friend. One time we were talking about her and her boyfriend with people at our table. My teacher over heard some of our conversation, she just heard boyfriend I guess because she assumed it was I who had the boyfriend? Why? I was taken a back, she looked puzzled, and just said “Oh.” Maybe she was stereotyping my friend, for not having a boyfriend? But, I don’t know it felt directed towards me. I always wondered why? Do I seem like the type who automatically has a boyfriend? And if so, what kind of person is this, how do they act, what do they look like? Weird? It was obviously her impression of me, stereotyping is a human condition and everyone uses it to categorize. I didn’t take it too personal.
